Below are a few examples of Bottles and Containers used for Burnett Food Products.

For more see: BURNETT’S FOOD ADVERTISEMENTS and as well as items shown in earlier pages.

Burnett’s Extract bottles were paper wrapped when first marketed to the public.

A facsimile from a Burnett’s Floral Handbook (1876) which shows the four sides of a typical extract bottle wrapper. This prevented the extract from being exposed to heat and light, which could damage the contents.  Up to this time it is likely a generic bottle was used  for many products with paper label wrappers affixed (similar to the above) to identify the contents (see Personal & Medical Various Sizes and Styles of Bottles used by Burnett’s).

One Pint Size Vanilla Extract Bottle from the 1930’s

Originally thought to be much older, a picture of this style bottle was found in the 1935 cookbook, “Rounding Out the Meal” (please refer to the two photo’s, shown below) from the cookbook

DISPLAY OF SOME OF THE PRODUCTS OFFERED BY THE COMPANY IN 1935 (FROM THE COOKBOOK “ROUNDING OUT THE MEAL")

Products shown in the photos; Burnett’s Ready-Mix Ice Cream, 2 Burnett’s Vanilla Extract bottles (Pint? Size with two different style labels), Burnett Extract bottles in their packaging, Burnett’s Food Coloring Tabs (lower center right), and Food Coloring Paste (above the Food Color Tabs).  The 3 wrapped packages contain an unknown product.

Burnett's Spice Tin (left) and Shaker Bottle (right) c.1920's-1940's

 Burnett’s Hungarian noble sweet paprika

This unusual spice tin pre-dates World War 1, as the Arms of Hungary date to the Austro-Hungarian Empire which ended at late in 1918.  The spices appear to be imported from Hungary and packed by the company.

A Very Colorful Imitation Maple Flavor Extracts Box (containing bottle) Which Has Seen Some Use. c. 1930's to Early 1940's

Amber "Tip-Proof Bottles From c.1932 (Note: Cork tops)
